“ I think it was without a doubt, one of the best meals I've had at Ashtabula Harbour. The soft lighting gave a nice warm atmosphere as we walked in from the cold snowy night. We were very warmly greeted, and because it was our first time there our waitress took her time explaining things to us. We were told we could go downstairs to look at the choice of wines but we just chose the Cabernet Sauvignon house wine after we were offered a taste. It was a relaxed evening. We shared two appetisers between the Five of us to help pass the time because meals are prepared from scratch so we had time to sip and chat which seemed very European. Between the Five of us we had a good sampling of the different courses offered. Everyone was very satisfied with their choices. The meal was a bit pricy but not the kind of 'nothing on the plate' pricy because the plates were well stocked with good produce. Even the house salad which came with the meal was very fresh, crisp and delicious. My brother who never eats salad finished every leaf and believe me, that's saying something. I was one of the only ones to finish and not need a box so also the only one to not order dessert. I was regrettably much too full but I of course tasted what each of the others got and all those desserts were amazing. I don't really know how it is we'd never been there but I'm sure we'll be going back. ------------- It's about a year since this last review. I'm back in the States for a while and my sister and I decided to come back for a meal. Last year we had a table upstairs and this year we were seated downstairs where they sell wines and a variety of other things. We both chose the roast beef carrots and mashed potatoes as the main dish but we started with dipping olive oil and delicious bread. My sister who is a quilter chose a wine with a name about quilting. I decided to have a glass of it too after tasting it. A very nice blend of a Zinfandel and a couple other reds. We followed the meal by sharing a delicious cake my sister ordered while I browsed through the wines. I chose a beautiful 10 German Riesling to bring home. I've now been here twice and again had one of my best meals since I've been back in the area. I totally recommend this restaurant. ”
“ Excellent service. Food and wine was all delicious! Everything is made to order... it takes maybe a bit longer than typical, but so worth it! The menu is reasonably priced for the quality food and beautiful atmosphere- seriously even the beverage coasters were awesome. Will return! ”
“ The atmosphere is very chique, well blended combination of modern finishes with the classic touches. Amazing server. She was super knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with! The drinks were very dimensional. I forget the name of the drink (something with a flask); the drink was infused with basil and was very fresh! Food was phenomenal. The walleye had the perfect amount of breading. The flavors were just absolutely exceptional all around. This joint is an ABSOLUTE gem for the harbor. Highly recommend! ”
“ We have been in here multiple times for drinks after dinner and today was our first time getting food. The nighttime atmosphere is very nice with the music and bar area. We booked their brunch special and as you can see from the picture below it was amazing. A great value for all the food you get and this was the second plate! There was also a cold plate served before this. The staff and owner were very nice and checked on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. I would highly recommend them for drink and food, especially the brunch! ”

“ Wow, what an experience! My wife and I drove in from the Cleveland area for a day trip to Ashtabula Harbor and had an early dinner at Fitzgerald's. No disappointments here. We absolutely loved everything. For our entrees I enjoyed the sea bass while my wife had the pistachio crusted the salmon. Both were excellent. We had a nice conversation with the chef / owner Deborah I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning on our next trip. ”
“ Comfortable, owner is very polite, nice wine selection, food was good. Update, several years later- I was pleasantly surprised to see Fitzgeralds, not only open, but thriving. I’ve seen a lot of businesses in the harbor fail, and it’s always sad to see. When I first came here, they had just opened, and it was nice then, but it’s down right amazing now. I love their upstairs bar area, and the huge selection of wines. The staff was very polite, and the prices were reasonable. This would be a great place for a date night with a significant other. 10/10, especially for Ashtabula county, of all places. ”
